We had the absolute pleasure over this past weekend to be invited to showcase at the gorgeous Summergrove Estate for the Tweed Wedding Trail. 
This innovative event showcased multiple northern NSW venues on the same day with a gorgeous map that led each bride, groom and their friends and family to the to view each location in all its glory. 
Every venue had it's own set of incredible wedding vendors that transformed the venue into a dreamy styled space. I was asked to showcase some of our favourite Begitta - Bridal & Couture gowns and also to have two gorgeous models roam around the property wearing dreamy dresses. Working with an amazing group of vendors The Barn at the picturesque Summergrove became the place of dreams!


Our gorgeous models/muses had their hair perfectly primped by the ever so talented Amy Spry Hair and Makeup and their effortless yet flawless makeup created by Bexi Makeup Artistry. With tablescapes put together by Arctic Fox Hire adorned with stunning florals by the talented Mrs Gibbons Flowers. The venue just beamed with beautiful sunbeams that lit up the whole room from floor to (super high) ceiling!


Such an absolutely beautiful day and we were so thrilled to be a part of it! It was so wonderful to meet so many beautiful vendors and so many gorgeous "Brides-to-Be's"! And how incredibly awe-inspiring is this dreamy venue....

THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

I was absolutely blown away when we go home from Melbourne after our big engagement and I had a message in my inbox from the beautiful Tanja, a gorgeous model and planner I have had the pleasure of working with and an incredible team of wedding vendors saying they had all had a chat and wanted to create our dream Engagement shoot! Holy Guacamole! We were so blown away by the incredibly thoughtful and totally generous offer and still am in a little bit of a spin that these incredible people have come into our lives and have offered such a beautiful and heartfelt gift! Eeek!
So the first thing was to throw around a few ideas of what we might like to do. I had a few ideas which I had been brewing for, let’s face it, forever. Second to the wedding day itself, this is a chance to get creative with our “Love Story” and what we love. It definitely makes it so easy that a bunch of incredibly talented people are there to help us make these dreams come true!
So I popped onto Pinterest (“Every Bride-to-Be’s Bible!”) and found a few pictures that offered a visual to what I would love to create. Gauging from the team their ideas and inspirations.  I am a huge lover of Disney and fairy tales so everything I had in mind sort of circled around those! I have seen some super gorgeous pictures of couples wearing large character heads and cute outfits, running around getting some really fun, cute pictures. But I knew that wasn’t really something Rob would enjoy as much as I would! We are definitely both ‘Old Romantic’s and love old-world charm so one of my other ideas (and most favourite) was a sort of Modern Fairy-tale.
 
A gentle nod to one of my favourite Disneys, Cinderella. I have always called Rob my Prince and always said I would marry one, and here is my chance to live a day like a Queen and what a great excuse to make an epic gown (or 2!)!!! 
 
So our fabulous team of vendors started dreaming up ideas that would work with the theme.
With the beautiful Tanja at the helm, bringing and collaborating with all the vendors, she has put together the most amazing team! The incredibly talented Ngaire from Event Stylist & Co along with floral genius and event stylist Mandi, Ivy & Bleu Events, will be putting together an epic table-scape and beautiful styling that will create a dream fairy-tale setting.
 
Bringing our vision to life would not  be possible without these incredible people and I am absolutely jumping out of my skin with excitement chatting to Mandi about what her and Ngaire have planned “We are super excited to play apart in creating this memory for you! Think hanging florals in wisteria lane and classic white blooms. Myself & Nagire wanted to make the styling and florals simple and elegant, yet impactful, to ensure the main things stood out - the stunning venue and you in that dress (oh and the prince of course). From crystal cut glass to the twinkling ambience of candlelit under the tabernacle every element of the styling and florals is being hand crafted to make dreams come true.”
We also have the incredible KB Lettering creating some beautiful stationery and something a little bit special to go in the setting of the exquisite Evergreen Garden Venue. Evergreen is full of gorgeous secret nooks and perfectly preened hedges. A place in itself, a fairy-tale and the perfect location to hold such a beautiful shoot! Or a small intimate wedding if you are so inclined. ;)
And it would seem you can’t have a beautiful table set without something sweet upon it! The amazing Two Little Bakers providing delish morsels and macarons (My favourite), I don’t know how we will resist not eating everything before we shoot it!
The fabulous team at Bella Brides Hair & Makeup will be turning me into a true princess. Eeeek! I hope they’re ready for that challenge!
To capture all this magic, a skill she is truly incredible at doing, is Kaitlin Maree Photography. An absolutely talented woman who seems to make real life look like a fairytale. She will be “Capturing this heavenly and romantic session in a way that is classic and subtle” with her whisper soft imagery. And of course I will be creating a dreamy gown to wear, something beautifully fairytale and delicately romantic!

Firstly, Congratulations! You're Engaged!!! Woohoo!

So… now what?

As someone who has worked in the wedding and fashion industries for quite a few years I have planned countless photoshoots, assembling vendors, locations, models, moodboards and timelines. How hard can it be? Swap models for Besties and throw in some (real) food and a lot of champagne, Right??!
​

Well to be honest, I’m totally overwhelmed! Which is why I’ll be enlisting the advice and help of some incredible industry friends, previous brides and wise words from Google! Add in a handy little wedding planning diary, aptly named “Count Down To WIFE LIFE” and I think I’ve got it in the bag, or church!!

I cannot wait to share each step of my adventures with you and hopefully shed some light whilst we navigate the nuptial planning together!

So the very first thing to do?
​Announce your engagement!


THE ANNOUNCEMENT

We got engaged in Melbourne, which is interstate from our home and our friends. Although we would have liked to share the news in person, the both of us just couldn’t wait to tell our parents (and the world) that we were/are getting married! As Rob had asked both my parents for permission and sought advice from my brothers my family knew it was going to happen at some point, as did Robs parents. So we knew they would be hanging by the phone whilst we were in Melbourne. We called our family a few hours after it all  happened  and took the following morning to call our close friends and other family to let them know we were engaged. The next part was making it “Facebook Official” (if its not on FB it didn’t happen! Hahaha!)
​

Whilst we were in Melbourne we have the perfect opportunity to go and explore the city together and capture those feelings and emotions the following day. We spent some time in the park opposite our hotel and captured some photos that I will cherish forever! These images make me giggle, cry and have my heart singing. After you have announced that he put a ring on it there is a lot of excitement and so much love going around. Enjoy it! Take this time to bathe in the love and joy and overwhelming feeling that there is now something really sparkly that follows you wherever you go.
Pretty much straight after our announcement I felt like 10,000 people were asking if we had set a date! I was like “I’ve known I will be getting married for about 5 minutes!” not to mention it’s hard to even keep your head on straight with so much excitement and sparkle distracting you!

​Don't forget to make time for each other to talk about how excited you are and reminisce on memories from your relationship and fun times you have had. Really focus on being present with each other and hold onto these memories in your memory bank for when it starts to feel overwhelming during the planning process.

Then when the excitement starts to wear down (for others, but not for you!) then the real adventure begins, THE PLANNING!!!!

We’re Engaged!!

Oh my goodness! There are few moments as special as when a man gets down on one knee, the world stops spinning for those few seconds, the heart seems to stop and go faster at the same time and he asks the love of his life to be his wife. And he chose me! Me!
 
How it all happened… The Long Version!
It all started with a trip to Melbourne, Australia. I am a Fashion Designer (coincidently I specialize in Bridal gowns) and over the past few months have been working on creating gowns for Miss Universe Australia. As a state sponsor I created gowns for the top 5 National finalists from our state, Queensland. The national finals were held in the beautiful city of Melbourne so my amazing and supportive man, Rob, flew down with me to attend the week of events and the big Gala dinner.

Being the perfectionist that I am I asked Rob to send me through the accommodation booking so I had the address and details for where we were staying so I could plan our way around to all the events etc. Upon arriving at the Hotel/Apartment early Tuesday morning, the lady we were checking in with said that we had only booked 3 nights. I freaked out a little as we were supposed to be there for 5 nights, wondering why in the world I let him book the hotel (control freak!), Rob then said that was correct and told me he had booked the last 2 nights in another hotel with fluffy robes, having an affinity with the sweet caress of those fluffy hotel robes and disposable waffle slippers I shut my mouth and walked away letting him finalize the check-in. Who was I to complain about fluffy robes?

I didn’t ask questions, both of us having spent the last 3 months working incredibly long hours, I knew Rob wanted to treat us to a bit of relaxation and spoiling (and fluffy robes!!). Rob then spent the next 15 minutes downplaying the hotel saying we were moving somewhere closer to football stadium, as we were going to a game on Friday night.


We spent the week in the city lunching in beautiful restaurants and having coffee and French pastries in laneways and hidden alleys. The Thursday night Gala dinner and Miss Universe Australia Crowning was absolutely amazing and the event was so much fun. Come Friday, feeling a little fragile after ever flowing complimentary wine throughout the previous night, we packed our bags and Rob ordered an Uber. As we were about a block from the hotel the Uber driver said “You’re staying at the Hotel Windsor, is that right?”, Rob froze and then turned to me and said “Surprise!! For all your hard work, I wanted to treat you” being very gracious to the Uber driver who just soiled his excitement, but not mine, I was over the moon! Having stayed a night at the Windsor the previous year with my mum I was so excited to spend TWO WHOLE NIGHTS there and with my love as well!!! To add to my excitement we were upgraded to a top floor suite! Such a treat and we were both so excited to explore the hotel.

The Hotel Windsor is like a dream, with previous guests including Royalty, Anthony Hopkins, Meryl Streep, Prime ministers… Just to name a few. The old elevators are like bird cages and the restaurant is beautiful silver service with heavy white linen table cloths and exquisite food, pretty much my idea of heaven! It’s my dream hotel and Rob, having a bit of an old soul much like me, is a lover of old world style decadence. After our first date we had both felt we’d known each other a lifetime, we’ve often discussed that we may have met in a previous life in an old era of the world as we both have a penchant for the finer things. #MeantToBe!

We had planned a ‘Date Night’ on the Saturday evening, our last night in Melbourne, at a beautiful French Restaurant that we had been to on our Anniversary the previous year. When we awoke on Saturday morning to the room service I’d ordered the night before (on those gorgeous little pre-order cards you hang on the door!) Rob said “Happy Anniversary!” I hadn't even realized it was the 1st of the month, which is our Monthly Anniversary! It was our 2 year and 10month-iversary!

We spent the rest of the lazy morning nibbling breakfast and drinking coffee. While sat at the window overlooking the stunning view of the park and Parliament building, Rob pawed through the information booklets in the hotel room compendium and pulled out the luxe gold ‘Hotel Windsor’ embossed stationery and we decided we should write each other love letters and post them home. Something about snail-mail that is so special when you receive it, so we both went into our own little corner and wrote a little something then sealed off the letters to drop to the concierge to post. We then got dressed around midday and went to explore the city. We visited the Victoria Parliament building and spent time in the park, playing and kicking up autumn leaves like children then we lounged on a park bench reading our books. As the sun drifted lower in the sky the freezing Melbourne air bit our skin so we made our way back to the hotel to get ready.

I put on a dress Rob had suggested I bring, not really thinking, I had packed it and decided to wear it after he said again that I should. It was a white slip dress and skirt of my creation that is so swishy and fun to wear. We arrived at the restaurant and waited for our table, whilst we waited we sampled wines and then chose a beautiful bottle of French white wine. Rob had made the booking and requested “The most romantic table”, in hindsight it should have been a hint but he had wanted a particular table last time we were there so it didn’t spark any interest, I felt more excitement because I loved “our” intimate table towards the back.

Rob seemed so calm and collected the whole time so I easily squelched the thoughts that it might happen tonight, we ate a platter of h’orderves and then sampled the escargot! After that Rob started saying he felt funny, we ate our delicious mains and held off on dessert for a bit as we were sooo full. Rob went to the restroom (where I later found out he was checking the ring was still there!) and our dessert, Crème brûlée, came out. When he sat down he said we should get a photo, we were taking photos all night but he wanted to waitress to take it. She didn’t come back for a while so we waited, for what felt like forever, I just wanted to taste the Crème brûlée! Rob seemed to get more and more nervous in just those 2 minutes and as she came over he asked for “a photo…” then in somewhat of a mumble he said “or a video”. The lovely lady started filming, asking how my meal was, I felt so awkward I had no idea what was going on.

Then Rob took out a pocket watch, it was a beautiful little vintage one we had found when we were in Melbourne the previous year, He told me when we had bought it at Victoria Market that there was so much going on, so much hustle and bustle and for just a minute time stopped, we had looked at each other, he said he knew more than ever in that moment he loved me. He started pulling out a little white bag from inside the watch. Then he pulled out the ring, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, then got down on one knee beside the table. I stood up realizing what was happening, by this time my eyes were streaming and my ears were buzzing and the whole world seemed to have stopped spinning and the words Rob said melted my heart. The moment when so quickly and so slow at the same time, so overwhelmed with all the emotions that I can barely recall the words though, I remember him saying “I want nothing more in my life than for you to be my wife, will you marry me?”…

The universe fell silent for that moment in time, I said yes and he slipped the ring on my finger. It fit perfectly and it felt like all the stars had aligned. Then the world started spinning again and the entire restaurant erupted and so many got to their feet clapping and cheering and I kept asking if this was real! We sat down and just stared at each other whilst my eyes streamed. You could not have wiped the grin off Robs face while he started telling me how long he had been waiting to ask me, that he had worked so long on the ring. Having looked at over 80 diamonds until he found the right one, he told me “I searched and searched for the perfect diamond like a penguin searches for the perfect stone when they find their partner for life”. Then he agonized over every detail of the custom setting, I had wanted a Tiffany set solitaire since I was about 12 years old and dreaming of my Prince Charming, but Robs slight changes made it even more beautiful. It is more stunning than I could ever imagine, so classic and as timeless as our love.

When we got back to our beautiful suite at the hotel we took our shoes off and holding hands jumped on the bed like kids! Rob in his suit and me in my dress laughing and jumping in circles yelling “We’re Getting Married!” I can’t imagine a more magical moment! The whole weekend feels like a complete dream and getting to spend our whole lives together forever feels like a true fairy-tale!

Days after arriving home the postman dropped off the most beautiful mail I have ever received.
A luxe gold embossed ‘Hotel Windsor’ envelope entitled “My Dearest Begitta” had arrived.

“My Dearest Begitta,
I write you this letter on the evening before I ask you a question that will forever change our lives. I write this with my heart full of love and my mind full of dreams for us.
I write this as a promise that I will forever be giving you my love and forever be trying my hardest to keep you happy.
As I write this letter you have no idea what I have in store for you but I will soon be the happiest man alive.
My sweet love, every moment with you is a dream come true.
Every kiss is passionate enough to make my heart skip a beat.
Every cuddle gives enough love to power a rocket to the moon.

Each and every day we have the same amount of hours of those incredible people we admire (Qween B, Oprah, Blake Lively, Tony Robbins etc. etc.). One great key to success is routine and structure to ensure a time and a place for the “must dos” which allow your mind to be free when it comes time to be creative and thinking outside the box.
 
Each day amongst the hustle and bustle that we continually navigate as a biz owner, it’s easy to lose that sense of self and direction. I certainly find that by taking the time to ground down once a day and to spend time (even just 15 minutes) with myself, I feel much more productive and present in the moment.
 
Each day I have a few rituals I do to ensure I stay focused, motivated and grounded:
 
THREE THINGS YOU ARE GREATFUL FOR TODAY
Take some time to recognize how lucky you are in this life. List three things in this day you are grateful for. Do your best to chose 3 different things each new day.
 
MEDITATION
I love the Smiling Mind App, it offers different types of mediation and alerts me when I haven’t checked in with the app (or myself!) lately. Another great choice is Headspace. Both are free and available on iphone and android.
 
BATTLE NEGATIVES & FEEL AMAZING
Find your queen! Within each an every one of us we have the ultimate super hero, woman (or man) who can conquer anything. Sometimes the world has us in a bind where we don’t feel confident to take that next step or speak up. When you’re feeling a little “off” or you’re feeling vulnerable in a situation or even if you just need to feel a little empowered. Ask yourself “What would my higher self do?” or “What would my Queen Self do?”. Whether it means brushing off some negative feedback or buying the perfect pair of heels that you’ve wanted forever, find your inner Qween and “Treat Yoself”
 
MANIFEST YOUR QUEEN
Positive thoughts and affirmations encourage our subconscious to achieve much more than we believe we can. What you believe you achieve. The self talk that we offer ourselves daily is, in most cases, critical and usually quite negative. Taking a few minutes out of your day to tell yourself and truly believe positive things about you and your capabilities will set you on the path to a more positive internal dialogue. A few of my favourite examples:
 
-  I am beautiful. Mind, Body & Soul
-  I only take actions that are serving me and that bring me pleasure.
-  I choose myself first always, remembering that I can only give when I am fulfilled.
-  I enjoy life and everything it has to offer.
Choose a manifesto or mantra that resonates with you and that you feel is in line with your beliefs. Find a few online or write your own and repeat them to yourself over and over. If you can do it out loud or whilst looking in the mirror you get bonus points! It may feel silly at first but you will start believing all that you say.
 
NOURISH
Every morning I start the day with a large glass of warm water and a squeeze of fresh lemon. This flushes out the digestive system and rehydrates the body.
The foods that you eat offer fuel to the body to be the rock star that you are. I love to fuel with lots of fresh produce and avoid processed and high sugar/salt foods. Each fortnight I “Meal Prep” 2 weeks worth of meals, which for me includes 3 small meals a day (plus breakfast and 2 small snacks). I follow an eating plan set out by my trainer and I have to say that I thought I ate quite healthily before but nothing gives me the energy and health benefits than eating a well balanced diet does. I highly recommend a plan but know that for some people with families it’s not an option to food prep. A great start to making sure you get all the right fuels is to plan each meal (put it in your Asana! See below!!) and recipe ahead of time and whatever meals you can to avoid making big mistakes and maccas runs (we’ve all been there but, NO MORE my queen!)
And of course DRINK WATER! 2-3ltrs a day is recommended (READ: Essential!) for optimum body and brain function. Plus during long office hours the need to use the ladies means you will get up often for a good stretch.
 
GET MOVING
I love getting out for a walk. It gives me more energy, it’s peaceful and I get to spend time with my thoughts and myself. I spend long hours in the office and studio so a good walk or jog gets my blood circulating and my heart going. I try to do a 45 minute fasted walk each morning and fit in a 30 minute quick workout afterwards where I can. I also push myself to do at least one yoga class a week. It doesn’t seem like much but when I get to spend time on myself I thrive during the day and feel more balanced.
 
STAY ORGANISED
For many people getting organised can be a colossal mountain climb. A program I love is ASANA. It’s free and easy to use. It links with my Google calendar, my phone and my email so I can keep on top of juggling all the tasks of my businesses and all the jobs at hand. Better still you can link colleagues or employees and assign tasks when needed. I definitely advise a short course in how to best use Asana to get the most out of it. Get onto it and tart the ball rolling, it may be a little overwhelming at first but I recommend starting out by listing EVERYTHING out on paper, do a huge brain dump to clear out the brain clutter. Categorize each into groups and then write out the steps that need to be taken to complete each task. It’s a hug job but once it is done it’s amazing how much more productive you are and efficiently making better use of your time.

I absolutely loved embracing this "Carrie Bradshaw Moment" wearing a custom Tea-Length Ballerina Skirt by moi, Begitta - Bridal & Couture! Paired with a bust-cup slip in off white it was the perfect figure-hugging bodice to balance the sheer size of this insanely pouffy ballerina skirt!

When we came across this beautiful shoot we certainly, most ardently, fell in love. This lovely team have revealed the essence of the Bohemian Heart in the imagery captured by Malin of Willow Branch Photography.
Two beautiful souls in love - be it sisters, best friends, soul mates or lovers. We adore how this playful shoot captures the fun and true depth of what we share as women and the deep connection of two souls finding each other. ...

​“This idea started with a desire to capture and showcase a country boho themed bridal shoot that included pastel and lace in a beautiful rustic country setting, and we found the perfect location at Spicers Hidden Vale. As the small group of wedding professionals developed the idea, it blossomed into something unique and exciting, and something we really wanted the world to see!”

​The team were inspired by artistic country boho, beautiful white lace and delicate paper flowers. Bringing it all together to create feminine, romantic imagery in a rural setting, the entire theme reminiscent of the original meaning of boho; unconventional and artistic, with the added chic of amazing fashion. 

“Staying true to the classic boho bride with artistic inspired pieces, our stunning models Bree and Karla wore delicate paper flower crowns custom designed by Shell From Hanging Pretty, to perfectly complement the intricate lace of Begitta’s couture gowns in both style and personality. 
The flawless makeup and soft wavy hairstyle by Sammy from Alexis Harlow Makeup Artistry picked up the tones of the florals, creating a romantic, dreamy feel, adding another dimension to the bohemian style we were aiming to achieve. 
 
Our team came together with a clear vision and love for creating something truly unique, and this is reflected in the images captured by Malin’s smooth, colourful photography, the emphasis on natural light, and using the landscape that Spicers Hidden Vale put on show for us as a feature.
We believe these images will appeal to a wide range of artistic souls, with the same-sex aspect of the feminine boho wedding style, while at the same time being able to be seen in a general context as an example for close friends, sisters or bridesmaids in a bridal setting.“

With incredible styling created by Nicole Ritchie Collections and the fantastic team at Beautiful Weddings Australia there could be no doubt that the surroundings would be lush. We weren’t disappointed! Their exquisite greenery wall flanked by exquisite floral walls created the incredible awe inspiring catwalk. The luscious fresh green floor runner along the catwalk was painstakingly put together by Bella Bloom Floral Designs using oodles of greenery and the countless hydrangeas . With staging by Staging Creations that looked like the ocean in reflecting the gorgeous gowns of the new Forgotten Garden Collection by Begitta –Bridal & Couture......

We have been working tirelessly with the fabulous Kelly on what we think will be the most exquisite florals ever! From the moment you pop a teeny Julie Whitehead Chocolate into your mouth you are transported to a happy place, we’re drooling a little just thinking about it. Not only does Julie crate bit szed magic she also creates the most elegant and delish wedding cakes. With a background in achetecture Julie creates the most sensational sculptures with her delectable chocolate.

In a nutshell, who are you and what do you do?                
I am a Chocolatier and create beautiful wedding cakes, simple or extravagant
 
What is it about weddings that you love so much?          
It is the biggest day in a bride and grooms life and I love that I can bring them some more joy and happiness with their cake.
 
What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?          
A 13 tier cake that I created that I had to assemble on an enormous ladder.

What do you do in your free time?           
I paint, go to the gym and surf.

If you were a colour, which colour would you be, and why?         
Fuchsia, I love pink, it warms my heart.

One of my favourite lines from the movie 'How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days' a fashion cult favourite for its gowns, guys and of course the jewels. Whenever I think of Kate Hudson in that yellow gown with that exquisite necklace my first thought is “I need that in my life”. Unfortunately I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars to splurge on the Isadora Canary Diamond necklace, but thankfully we have found the picture-perfect option to get the look and the exact amount of sparkle! What is it about weddings that you love so much?             
I love being part of a brides journey leading up to her wedding, helping her to be her most beautiful.  I love the stories and am honoured to be a part of her most special day.  The most rewarding part is exceeding a bride and Mother of Brides expectations and sharing hugs and tears, it is a beautiful moment that is treasured.
What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?             
Creating a treble cleft as part of a hair piece and bracelet, the bride was a singer and piano player and music was her life, she wanted something truly special to honour her music as it is such a big part of her life and to have pieces that she will wear again at her performances, very touching and special.
What do you do in your free time?           
Draw, make jewellery, catch up with friends and walk on the beach

From Underwater images to incredible High Fashion Editorials, Beth Mitchell has the most incredible eye for those minute details.
With each flick of her camera shutter Beth brings the whimsical, the ethereal and awe inspiring to life. At a young age Beth was selling her incredible prints internationally in galleries all over the world. specializing in Fine Art and Underwater Photography she has honed her skills to be the Master of her trade with many trying and failing to follow in her footsteps in creating the perfect underwater shot.
For years Beth has worked solely in a creative capacity producing amazing print work for lovers of her work to hang on their walls. But now, praise the universe, she is offering her multidimensional talent to the world in the form of Trash the Dress photography. Now we want to be clear that Trash the Dress does NOT have to be a horrible experience in which you sling mud pies. Beth offers an incredible service to capture you and your gown submerged in an otherworldly dimension.

In a nutshell, who are you and what do you do?
I specialise in the art of underwater photography. In your case, I encapsulate your beauty in what they like to call "Trash the Dress" but let's call it creating beautiful art UNDERWATER. I am a fashion photographer and a fine artist, which makes for a lovely combination.
What is it about weddings that you love so much?
Oh Weddings! Don't get me wrong, I love LOVE. But I love fashion more (maybe). For me it's about the beauty that is in the dress, who is the designer, what inspires this work of art? I find that some gowns are MEANT to be photographed and hung to keep them alive.
What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?
As mentioned above, I'm all about that couture and beauty. So when I've photographed lovely women in gowns underwater, especially brides, it does give a very unique take on the "trash the dress" concept. I love to be part of that.
What do you do in your free time?
Frequent coastal trips (sometimes on the back of a motorbike, which I love), soaking in art, exploring new cafes and playing with my adorable cat Jetté
If you were a colour, which colour would you be, and why?
It's weird, my work is *BAM* colour. But myself, not as much. I would have to say Gold. Because if just goes so well with black.
Favourite Cocktail?        
Chocolate Old Fashioned - not just because I'm a fashion photographer, but because I cannot live without chocolate.

I love the precision of weddings and being able to create a beautiful setting from a blank canvas.
What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?    
We held a Hindu ceremony which was a great experience for myself to learn the culture and understand the ritual involved in marrying into an Indian family.
What do you do in your free time?         
Spend time with my lovely fiancé planning our own wedding!
If you were a colour, which colour would you be, and why?           
Light Blue, it is such a fresh and airy colour  that makes me feel at ease.

French Martini!!!

In a nutshell, who are you and what do you do? 
We create fun, unique and memorable wedding celebrations through the use of our entertainment and lighting design.
What is it about weddings that you love so much?             
I love that family and friend gather to celebrate the love of 2 people. I love that a wedding is a celebration filled with joy and hope.
What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?             
We had a lovely couple that had a live musician for pre-ceremony drinks who also taught the guests how to play the triangle and some little musical sticks. The couple then surprised the guests be greeting them at the pre-ceremony drinks. The couple then led the guests over to the ceremony area while the guests played their instruments that they had been learning together with the background music we played with the live artists adding in some vocals. It was a lovely atmosphere and everyone enjoyed being a part of it. That whole wedding event was like this. Amazing!
What do you do in your free time?           
I have 2 school age kids so in my free time I love to hang out with them and watch them grow.
If you were a colour, which colour would you be, and why?          
I would be rainbow swirl because I like variety and I believe that we all learn a little from everyone we meet and every experience we have, so hopefully I would then be able to help more people learn as I would have something to offer everyone.
Favourite Cocktail?         
Vodka, Lime & Soda

My local Indian restaurant is amazing, yet I don’t even know it’s name!

Wrapped Up Media is a Brisbane based wedding films studio run by a young and vibrant husband and wife team, Joel and Kim Knights.
On location, Joel and one of our three other cinematographers capture the true essence of the day and every raw emotion. The team have years of experience in the wedding industry and over ten years in video production working on corporate productions and live concerts.
What is it about weddings that you love so much?             
We’re passionate about providing our couples with the very best way to remember their day that slips by so quickly. The best part about what we do is meeting and getting to know so many amazing couples, and sharing their stories.
Being able to do what we’re passionate about everyday; creating beautiful wedding films that are personalised, meaningful and cherished so much by our couples for years to come, is why we love what we do.
What is the most unique thing you’ve seen at a wedding?             
A few years ago a Bride and Groom at a wedding we attended had a very strict schedule to maintain for their reception and a large family that all wanted to do speeches at their wedding.
They decided to pre-record all of their speeches on video by getting their family and friends together a few weeks prior to the wedding and by asking those abroad to contribute. It resulted in an entertaining, meaningful and unique way to approach this traditional part of the night. The best part was that they were able to keep it forever and watch it back at any time.
What do you do in your free time?           
In our spare time you’ll find us spending time with our two boys, Chad and Coban, and usually there’s a camera somewhere nearby to capture the mischief these two get up to.

I’m not sure if white is a colour, but if it is, it would be my choice. It’s the only colour that has unlimited potential just by mixing it with any other colour.
